Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona |

 |
| This area is rich in sites to visit. There are many renaissance buildings, churches and monuments. In front of the Tiberina Island there is the old jewish ghetto the traces of which are still visible today. Piazza Campo de’ Fiori with its colorful market, its “pittoresque” atmosphere and its numerous taverns represents a plesant stop after a long walk and a key-spot to observe and enjoy the lively atmosphere of this district. In the passed centuries Piazza Navona was the seat of popular shows and horse races famous in the whole city. For example, the “naumachie”, naval games of ancient origin, where held in this Piazza which was flooded during the summer nights. The games involved both the noblity and the common people in a sort of folkloristic summer carnival. Today it is one of the most beautiful squares in Rome. An intense cultural and mundane life flows in the nearby streets: various modern art exhibitions are organized in the Chiostro del Bramante and the numerous cafès are meeting-points for artists, intellectuals and world-famous personalities.
